About Us

Russel S. Mason, the founder and CEO of Formidable Consultancy Services Limited, boasts of 30 years plus unblemished service in the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service. He worked in several stations and specialized units throughout his career, where he was elevated to management levels.  Russel has a wealth of knowledge and experience in policing, having attended several courses (locally & abroad). He is the holder of an Associate Degree in Business Management (Hons.) from the College of Science, Technology and Applied Arts of Trinidad and Tobago (COSTAATT), a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Management from the University of Sunderland (UK), a Master of Sciences Degree (Distinction) in Criminology and Criminal Justice from The University of the West Indies (UWI) and, numerous certificates for other courses. He is also a Certified Mediator (Civil, Non-Family Matters) registered with the Mediation Board of Trinidad and Tobago. Russel served as the Deputy Chairman of The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, Police Research Group (UWISA-PRG) (2022-2024). His research interest is in environmental criminology, gangs, policing, juvenile delinquency and drugs and firearms trafficking in the Caribbean region. He is also the co-author of a book chapter and a peer-reviewed article. He currently conducts tutorials in the Criminology and Criminal Justice Unit, Department of Behavioural Sciences, at The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine campus. Russel also dedicates his time to volunteer work with the Adult Literacy Tutors Association (ALTA).
